Washington, DC – Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26) has come forward to condemn President Donald Trump’s remarks made at a rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. Joined by Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Chair of the California Democratic Congressional Delegation, and 40 other California lawmakers, they issued a statement in response to the President’s comments regarding his military stance on Iran.
In their statement, the lawmakers expressed serious concern over Trump’s words, which seemingly invited danger to American cities: “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.” They called for the President to apologize to the over 16 million residents of the Los Angeles and San Diego metropolitan areas, as well as to all Americans, emphasizing the expectation that the President should uphold the dignity of his office.
